04/08 3eme semaine bis/3rd week

Florence....

Florence is walking all day now. It's her new "thing" wherein she has given up all other pursuits right now to master this new, happily acquired skill. It is probably, outside of language, the singular skill she is happiest to master as it gives freedom, of movement, of choice, of spirit. In fact, she simply walks all day and night around the house, flapping her arms in excitement, happily singing to herself, walking here, walking there, often with no particular goal in mind except to enjoy the ride, as it were.

Often times she'll look down and watch her feet move as she walks, fascinating, not understanding the mechanics.

Happy, happy girl.

Richard will be heading out to training again, sadly. It sucks without him. Both Florence and I bemoan his absence on a regular basis.

Oh, and I'm tired. But the other wonderful thing of her learning to walk is she tires very easily these days. Often she'll walk 'til so late in the day that she starts to tumble and fall due to fatigue . Poor girl.

But oh how fascinating. And its oh so nice to see that she is, indeed, duly fascinated by this gift of life.

Oh, and Happy Birthday Florence! You're going to be one! HA! ONE! HAHAHAHAH! There's not a part of my body that doesn't secretly wish it were one again. (Especially my tushy. Babies have the greatest tushies!)

The end. OUT!
