03/08 4eme semaine/ 4th week

This week saw Richard home and grandparents visiting. As such, Florence had a plethora of attention akin to a cheering crowd. Among the activities which she pursued included pushing our dining chairs around the kitchen, as it seems her li'l tyke push cart no longer does the trick. Time to upgrade!

She is definitely over her bad times last week, all well and healed. Seems we may have to alter her schedule again to one nap per day as, just before getting sick, she seemed to be able to stay awake for over five hours in the evening and this didn't allow for two naps per day, as it caused her to go bed very late, around 10pm. Much too late for tired parents.

Grandpa and grandma are having a great time with Florence, as she loves to laugh and is full of tricks. Mostly, it's her easy going nature that just draws you in. And she has gone from being wary of strangers to mostly happy to see most, greeting all with a prom queen wave as we go by in the shopping cart.

For Richard, he is to start training on a new airplane, something which has him both excited and probably a bit nervous, yee ol' 'what have I done?!' But as he says, it's about time, as he has been in his current plane for over eight years. He's been pushing the midnight oil on learning it for some time now, to get a leg up on the upcoming, grueling classwork which is sink or swim, with no life preserver offered.

And for me it's just carrying on with life to the best of my abilities. Seems that it may be time to give up my last vices of youth, aka soda and junk food. Though I'm not sure it will work, or that I will just be forced to partake in a dark closet as Florence sleeps, lest she be poisoned by my bad habits, the damage which could last a lifetime. But, alas, sometimes a piece of cake is just a piece of cake.

Bye!
