01/08 2eme semaine/ 2nd week

Another week of the continuing saga of "Not Much Sleep" wherein (yes, good ol' wherein again) none of us are averaging well in REM hours. The wakie wakies average from a good night of two up towards four or even eight, but things have settled down to about two to three. Really believe that right now it's a teething issue and, as a result, also a comfort seeking issue. Also, as she's becoming more cognizant each day, I also think Daddy coming and going is affecting her too, as she becomes aware of, and reacts to, these constant shifts in persons in our house, which then gives rise to separation anxiety and stranger anxiety issues. Ah well. Regardless, me thinks it will takes another couple of months before the bliss of the all night sleep returns (she used to sleep through the night without fail for months! Spoiled us rotten!). The waking isn't necessarily so much the problem as it can be the difficulty getting her back to sleep. When she's hurting, she wants to cling. Can't blame her. In always trying to put myself in her shoes, I think I'd be clinging too, moaning and groaning. It's hard being a baby!

But, to aid me back Richard and I have purchased this gigantic, what was coined, Super Bowl chair, a super squishy rocker recliner, in which I sink and put the little one to sleep. Sure beats beating a path around the house lugging a large baby, which making mental note of all the parts of my body losing feeling (left arm, there goes the right arm, etc. etc.) So, God Bless the Super Bowl.

She's walking. She's talking (current favorite words are mama and dada). She gets up and down like a charm, even taught herself how to sit down from a standing position, going down on her knees. Wow.

She's eating her fair share of solids, self feeding Cheerios and self feeding herself with a spoon (though not necessarily always hitting the mark when attempting to put spoon in mouth). Its especially fun when she eats prunes because she always ends up looking like Charlie Chaplin.

Well, enough said for now. Tired. Go to bed! Out.
